A.G. Russell Co. is a small business but we are also a family (some of us are even related…but don’t tell anybody). Above all else we know the value of creating and maintaining good relationships with our customers. Quality and dedication, as well as honest communication is what makes us who we are.

A.G. Russell Co. was started by stamp maker Avalon G. Russell in 1946 in Hartford CT. When he decided it was time to sell, it just so happened that a few guys from Noblewest were looking to buy… 
Noblewest (later Schmidt Noblewest) in East Hartford CT, began the education of Lee Lowe, his brother Doug Lowe, and Certified Engraver Frank Fetera. In their 10 years at Noblewest, they became leaders in their respective fields, learning all the ins and outs of the marking and engraving business . They took this knowledge with them, and together with Frank Hayes, began transforming A.G. Russell into the company is it today.
Eventually the guys moved to the historic Colt building in Hartford. After 17 years there, A.G. Russell moved to its current location at 60 George Street in East Hartford in 2003. 
What We Do Best
Lee Lowe, Doug Lowe and Frank Fetera have over a century combined experience in the engraving business. Serving customers worldwide, we specialize in all aspects of the engraving/marking industry.
We utilize the best in the business to get the job done right. We partner with the highest quality Heat Treat & Plating facilities, as well as world noted Colt engraver/artist Dennis Kies. Whatever is needed for the job, from hand engraving to computerized machinery, we help every step of the way – from designing and layout, to marking parts.
